Description

Clifton Lodge is a mid-19th century building situated on the corner of Romsey Road and Clifton Road. It is rendered and painted, and is three storeys high, featuring a curved frontage. The building presents two bays to Romsey Road and four bays to Clifton Road, with two windows on the rounded corner. A band runs along the first floor level, and there are giant Corinthian pilasters above. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, and the first floor windows have bracketted heads and iron balconies to the corner windows. The roof is slate. The building occupies an important position.
