Description
The main entrance gate piers, gates, and flanking railings and piers of the Peninsula Barracks, built between 1899 and 1904 by E. Ingress Bell, are constructed from Portland stone, wrought iron, and cast iron. The entrance features a pair of rusticated stone gate piers that lead into the main carriageway, each topped with moulded caps and ornate wrought iron lanterns. There are also a pair of iron gates and flanking quadrant railings set on a stone dwarf wall, which has terminal piers that resemble the gate piers but do not have lanterns. To the right (west), there is a foot gateway.
