Description

Two houses, built in the 18th century, stand on the north side of East Street in New Alresford. They are two and a half storeys in height, with two and a half windows each. No. 25 has a lower walling of red brick in a Flemish bond, with blue headers, while the upper walls are covered in mathematical tiles, as is the entire façade of No. 27, which also features brick dentilled eaves. The upper windows of No. 25 are casements, and No. 25 incorporates a large, angular bay with a cornice feature and sash windows. No. 27 has sash windows with exposed frames and a hipped dormer with a casement window. The houses have two similar doorcases of a thin classical design, featuring open pediments on a broken cornice, brackets, pilasters, and Victorian panelled doors. The roofs are tiled.
