Description

Deane House Cottage is a cottage dating back to the 17th century, though it was encased in an 18th-century structure. It is timber-framed with wattle and daub infill, which has been covered by colourwashed brick and flint. The roof is of modern pantile. The cottage is situated along a road, and has a garden side with three bays and a smoke bay, as well as a 1½-storey design. A 20th-century porch with a glazed door sits centrally, providing access. To the left of the porch is a 19th-century three-light camber head casement window, and to the right end is a smaller two-light casement. Four regular 20th-century gabled dormers are present, each containing a two-light casement. A large stack is located to the left of the centre, and a second stack is at the right end. Internally, the original timber frame is visible.
