Description
Watley Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the mid-18th century, with a possibly earlier core and a late 18th-century service range. It is constructed of brick and has an old plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic and basements, featuring three bays, along with a two-bay addition on the right side.
The central doorway is flanked by three Portland stone steps, leading to a basement that has a two-light segmental-headed window. The entrance features an 18th-century six-pane door set in a doorcase with pilasters, topped by consoles that support an open pediment. On either side of the door and on the first floor, there are five 12-pane sash windows with cambered arches above. The roof includes three 20th-century hipped dormers, each with 12-pane sashes.
The end stacks are present, and the right-hand service wing has a planked door located to the right of centre, with a 12-pane sash window on each side and another on the first floor to the left. The service wing has lower eaves and ridge heights, with a stack from the house on the left, a stack on the right, and a ridge stack positioned left of centre.
