Description
The former warehouse building, originally a mill and later a factory, is now a gym. It was built in 1873 and features brick construction with an asbestos roof. The building has three storeys and an attic, displaying a symmetrical form with three windows on the gable ends and five on the sides. The brickwork is a mix of pink and yellow stock bricks, with yellow brick dressings that include a plinth and pilasters separating the bays, which have cambered heads at the top along each side and in the center of each gable. The eaves line is marked by a fascia on brick dentils, and there are moulded stone capitals in the two middle pilasters at each end. Flush yellow banding runs along the pilasters at each floor level. The window openings, which recede in height as they go up, feature stone cills and stone lintels that break cambered relieving-arches, with casements. The west gable has central doors on each floor, while the south side has similar doorways on the first and ground floors. The internal construction includes cast-iron columns.
