Description

11 The Close is a Grade I listed building dating from the mid to late 17th century, with alterations made in 1727. It is two storeys high with an attic and features red brick walls and an eaves cornice. The building has a symmetrical front with five windows and a central panelled door that has a stone surround and a hood supported by consoles. A flight of stone steps leads up to the door. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, and the roof is covered with old tiles and has notable brick chimneys. Inside, there is a fine late 17th-century staircase. The building is part of a group of listed buildings in The Close.
