Description

9 The Close is an early 17th-century, three-storey stone building featuring three gables and an old tile roof. Each gable has an 8-light mullioned and transom window. The other floors have six sash windows with glazing bars and drip moulds, which are banded at the first floor level. A Gothic porch was added around 1840. The building has a good chimney and retains an original five-light mullion and transom window at the rear, along with the remains of other windows. The interior was altered in the early 19th century and includes a Georgian staircase. All listed buildings in The Close are part of a group.
