The garden wall of the Royal Hotel, dating from the 18th century, is constructed of red brick, with some sections made from older stone and flint. It is part of a group that includes the Royal Hotel itself and the buildings at Nos 2 to 9 (consecutive), 22, and 23 on St Peter Street.
