Description
46 and 47 High Street is a building originally known as the White Hart Inn, dating from the late 18th century. It stands three storeys tall with white brick walls and a moulded stone coping. The upper floors feature four windows, with two central windows set within a large arch that is divided by a central Ionic column, flanked by half columns and an entablature. The second-floor windows are adorned with wrought iron balconies. The building has modern shop fronts and sash windows with glazing bars. A parapet crowns the structure, although the roof is not visible. This building is part of a group that includes The Old Market House, the Butter Cross, and Nos 25 to 50 on the same street.
