Description

This is a building dating from the 15th and 16th centuries, although it has been significantly altered since. It is a four-storey timber-framed building with a plastered gable, the upper two floors projecting outwards on brackets. Modern features include a shop front and a first-floor window. The roof is tiled, and there is an archway leading through to the Square. The building contains remains of a Norman Palace. It forms a group with the Old Market House, the Butter Cross, and numbers 25 to 50 on the same side of the street.
