Description

The Square numbers 15 and 16 are a pair of late 18th-century buildings situated on the north side of The Square. They are three storeys high and constructed of red brick with stucco quoins. A bracketed cornice runs along the top of the facades. There are six windows in each building. Number 16 features a symmetrical bowed shop front with a central entrance under a cornice that echoes the shop window's curve. A good fanlight is positioned above the door, although the shop window itself has been altered and lost its original glazing bars. The entrance is accessed via a six-panel door. The windows are sash windows, some with glazing bars. Number 15 has 19th-century sash windows on the first floor and a 19th-century shop front. The roofs are not visible.
