Description
23 Southgate Street is a late 18th century to early 19th century building located on the east side of Southgate Street. It is two storeys high with an attic and features brick walls, a dentil cornice, and a parapet. The façade includes one window and one door on the ground floor, with a two-storey, three-light bow window that has a wooden dentil cornice. The ground floor has modern windows, while the upper floor has sash windows with glazing bars. There is one attic dormer and an old tiled roof. The entrance is highlighted by a moulded doorcase with a reeded frieze block supported by brackets and an open pediment, along with an arched fanlight. The door itself is panelled with glazed panels and panelled reveals. All the listed buildings on the east side of Southgate Street form a group.
