Description
Cocum is a mid-19th century cottage located in Yarners Green, Compton. It features a combination of flint, brick, and part timber-frame construction with brick infill, topped by a slate roof. The building has a T-shaped layout consisting of three bays, with a projecting wing at the front. A central planked door with a cambered head provides the entrance. The first floor is jettied all around and includes a canted four-light oriel window supported by a single bracket that extends down to the jetty. The cottage is adorned with carved bargeboards. The side bays feature a canted four-light bay window with a hipped roof, and above it, there is a two-light gabled dormer with moulded bargeboards. The roof overhangs at the ends, also showcasing moulded bargeboards. External stacks are located at the ends, topped by three square-sectioned brick stacks.
