Description

Nos. 16 and 16A on High Street is a house, part of which is used as a surgery. It dates from the 18th century and early 19th century. The building features brick walls laid in Flemish bond, with cambered openings and brick dentil eaves. It has a tiled roof, with a lower double pile at the rear and remnants of a catslide. The west front elevation is two storeys high and has two windows. It includes casements and a splayed bay on the north side. The doorway has an open pediment supported by brackets, an architrave, and a six-panelled door, two of which are glazed. A passage opening on the south side leads to the rear, which has a symmetrical elevation of two storeys with three sash windows.
