Description
Micheldever Railway Station is a railway station built around 1840 by Sir William Tite for the London and Southampton Railway. The building is constructed of flint with yellow brick dressings and features a slate roof. It has two storeys set on a brick plinth and consists of a three-window range with a central bay and half bays at each end, which are recessed and decorated with long and short work dressings. All windows and doors are camber headed and share the same surrounds, which include a white painted keystone and sill. There is a stucco string course below the sills on the ground floor. The station is surrounded by a wide flat-roofed verandah supported by cast-iron posts. The central entrance has double doors with a fan-light on either side, and each bay contains a tall tripartite window, with one window altered and a small light to the left of a door. Above, there are two tripartite sash windows on either side of a 12-pane sash window. The roof features boxed eaves and yellow brick gable stacks. The railway at this location opened in 1840.
