Description
Nos 9, 10, and 11 Bridge Street are a row of cottages with a slightly curving front, likely originally two houses that were later converted to five and now function as three. They date from the 17th century and feature timber framing with late 18th century and early 19th century recladding in parts. The front wall displays exposed framing in three upper sections with plaster infill, while the other walls are constructed of brickwork in Flemish bond with blue headers, and also in Flemish Garden Wall bond, with a first-floor band in some areas. The roof is half-hipped and tiled, with a catslide at the rear, which also has a half-hipped gable on a projecting wing, and two wide gables from the 19th century above eaves level. The building has two storeys and an attic, with irregular fenestration consisting of six over six windows. The windows are casements, and there are three boarded doors in plain frames.
