Description
The garden walls, terrace, and gazebo immediately south of Luzborough House date from the late 17th century. They are constructed of brick in Flemish garden wall bond. The structure features a 20-meter long terrace with a 1-meter high retaining wall supporting a 2-meter wide terrace. A 3-meter high garden wall connects to the gazebo at the far end of the terrace. The garden wall then runs at right angles for 30 meters at a height of 2 meters before turning again to return towards the house at a height of 3 meters, enclosing the garden and joining a range of outbuildings. The garden wall on the terrace includes plain rectangular buttresses every 5 meters. The gazebo features an arched entrance facing the terrace, with a moulded border resting on pilasters that have moulded caps and bases. One side of the gazebo has a wall that ramps up from the retaining wall, while the other side slopes down with a tiled roof behind it, displaying blue headers. Inside, there is a vaulted chamber.
