Description

Rose Cottage is a late 18th-century cottage, originally two dwellings, with 20th-century extensions and restoration. It is constructed of brick and flint, with a thatched roof. The cottage is one and a half storeys high, with two windows on the upper level and two on the lower. The roof has a flipped pitch, with eaves raised above the upper windows, and projects at the rear (north) with a slate roof. The lower walls of the central section include flint bands and flintwork above, brick quoins, a brick band, and painted brickwork on each side. The windows are casements. A 20th-century gabled porch with a shingled front and brick cheeks has been added. The cottage is listed for its group value.
