Description
The Bear and Ragged Staff Public House is a public house built in the late 18th century, with an early 19th-century range at the back. It is constructed of brick and has an old plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high and has a four-bay front. The rear features a similar slate roof from the 19th century, along with single-storey 20th-century lean-tos on each end.
The front of the building has a centrally located planked door with a segmental head opening, situated between the right bays. The left bays contain 4-light segmental head casements, while the right bays have 3-light segmental head casements. On the first floor, there are four 3-light casements. The building has end stacks, with a 20th-century lean-to at the left end that includes a casement, and a flat-roofed lean-to at the right end. Additionally, there is a contemporary stable block beside the public house.
