Description
Beam End is a cottage dating from the 17th century, which was encased and extended in the 18th century. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill at the front and a cob addition. The cottage has a thatched roof and is 1 and a half storeys high, consisting of three bays of timber-frame with an additional cob bay on the right. The front of the cottage includes an 18th-century planked door located to the right of the centre 17th-century bay. The two bays on the right have five-light casements, while to the left of the door there is a three-light casement and a 20th-century two-light window at the left end. Above the door, on each side, there are tall eyebrow dormers featuring 20th-century steel windows. The roof is half-hipped, with a ridge piece and a stack positioned above the door and the right end of the older part of the building.
