Description

Fir Tree Cottage is an 18th-century cottage that has been altered in the late 20th century. It is timber-framed with colourwashed brick infill and has a thatched roof. Originally a single-storey, single-bay building, it has been extended to become a 3-bay, 1 1/2-storey structure. A 20th-century ledged door is set under a thatched hood in the right-of-centre bay, with a small window above. A 2-light leaded casement window is located to the left of this bay and in the right bay. Two 2-light casement windows are found in the left bay. Four 3-light windows in eyebrow dormers are set into the roof, two in the central section. The roof is half-hipped with a ridge piece. A ridge stack is situated between the left bays, and an external projecting stack is at the right end.
