Description
This building is a barn located 20 meters west of the Northern Farmhouse, dating from the 18th or 19th century. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and has an asbestos sheet roof. The barn has nine bays and is aisled on the side away from the farmhouse, positioned end on to the road. The structure includes a six-bay barn from the 18th century, with three additional bays from the early 19th century added to the road end. On the farmhouse side, there is a 19th-century cob block in front of the road end bay, which has a double door. The end 18th-century bay and a similar bay on the other side have doors cut into the aisle. There are outshots and concrete block lean-tos on all but the end bays, which feature stable doors. Inside, the barn has a queen strut roof with straight braces to the tie beams and aisle plate, as well as straight windbraces.
