Description
Nos 3 and 5 Mainstone are 18th-century, two-storey houses located at the south-west end of No 1 Mainstone. They are built at a lower level than No 1, so the eaves of Nos 3 and 5 are about the same height as the top of the ground floor windows in No 1. The houses are constructed of colourwashed brick and have an old tile roof, which may have been partly retiled. Each house features two 2-light casement windows, with the lower windows having segmental headings. There is a wooden boarded door for each house, also with a segmental heading. Additionally, there is one blocked opening on the upper floor of No 3. Nos 3 and 5, along with Middle Bridge Nos 1 to 7 (odd) and Nos 177 and 179 Middlebridge Street, form a group.
