Description

Garden Bridge, located 15 metres east of the Old Rectory, is a footbridge that crosses a canalised stream and dates back to around 1840. The structure is made of cast iron, produced by Taskers (or Waterloo Ironworks) in Upper Clatford. It features arches that are formed by two halves of an oval shape, adorned with decorative scrolls in the spandrels. Above the arches is a panelled beam, topped with a rail that has slender balusters at the main points and plain verticals in between, all tied together with cross braces.
