Description

The Old Rectory is a house dating from the 18th century, with early 19th-century alterations and small 20th-century extensions. It features a stucco front, brick walls elsewhere, and a tiled roof. The south elevation has two storeys with four windows, although the west side is now obscured by a taller projecting wing of two bays, topped with a hipped roof. The walls are constructed in Flemish bond and Garden Wall bond, with some rubbed flat and round arches, and a plinth. The windows include coupled casements with metal Gothic lights, sashes on the east face of the wing, and a wide bow at the front of the wing. There is a half-glazed door beneath a pedimented canopy supported by brackets.

The north elevation, which is from the early 19th century, features a prominent central projection and a lower west side, with two storeys and a window arrangement of 1.3.1.2. The walls are stucco with a parapet and plain openings. It has sashes, with triple units on each side of the centre and tall ground-floor windows in the middle. The west side includes a slender Tuscan porch with two columns and two pilasters, featuring a thin architrave above the doorway and narrow panelled reveals, along with a half-glazed door. The west elevation shows a mix of styles, revealing the west end of the original house, with sashes and casements, and a six-panelled door beneath a canopy on brackets.
