Description
22 Market Place is an early 18th century building that has undergone alterations. It has a lower elevation compared to No 21, but the windows are roughly aligned. The building features a steeply pitched roof with a lower ridge line than No 21, covered with tiles, most of which have been renewed. It is three storeys tall, although the attic storey has been removed. The exterior is finished in coloumwashed brick and includes a moulded string at the first floor sill level and a moulded wood cornice. The upper floors have three sash windows with architrave frames and intact glazing bars. The ground floor has a 20th-century metal-framed shop front. This building is part of a group with other listed buildings in Corn Market and Market Place.
