Description
Number 17 Market Place is a building from the 18th century, part of a pair with number 18 under a shared roof. It is three storeys tall with an attic, constructed of brick and featuring a moulded brick cornice. The roof is modern tile, half hipped to the west, and there are two hipped dormers with Yorkshire type casements. The upper floors have three sash windows without glazing bars, and the windows are adorned with rubbed brick voussoirs. The ground floor has a modern plate-glass shop front, and there is an entrance to a yard at the east end, which is concealed by plain double wooden doors. A fascia with a dentilled cornice extends over both the yard and the door. This building is part of a group of listed buildings in Corn Market and Market Place.
