Description
No. 16 Market Place is an early 19th-century building that originally had three storeys, although the attic storey has been removed. It is constructed of brick and features flat eaves and a slate gabled roof, which has a higher ridge line than the adjacent No. 15. The upper floors have two sash windows, each four panes wide, with intact glazing bars set in painted reveals and decorated with painted stucco voussoirs. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front with glazing bars that angle towards the doorway at the southeast end, a low brick stall-riser, and a modern fascia. This building is part of a group of listed buildings in Corn Market and Market Place.
