Description
This is a range of barns and stables located 50 metres south of Norman Court, dating from the 18th century and around 1900. The buildings feature boarded and brick walls with a tiled roof. The structure consists of three 18th-century barns that are connected at their ends and arranged in a zig-zag formation. The easternmost barn connects to a north-south barn that has 5½ bays and one aisle. At its northern end, this barn is joined to an east-west barn with 6 bays and aisles. All these barns are timber framed with Queen post trusses, hipped tiled roofs, and boarded walls. The mid-19th-century range is arranged in three angles to form a courtyard, with brick walls and tiled roofs, featuring hipped dormers and lower windows beneath cambered openings. The northern end of this block is early 19th-century, constructed with brick walls in English bond.
