Description
The Dog and Gun Public House, originally three cottages, has been a public house since 1983. It dates from the early 19th century and was renovated in 1983. The building is constructed of flint and brick, topped with a thatched roof. It has a shaped block design, with the front elevation facing south featuring one storey and an attic, and three windows. The roof is hipped at the west end and half-hipped elsewhere, with eaves raised above the upper windows and a catslide on the east side of the north wing. The walls are made of flint with brick quoins and cambered openings, all of which are now painted. The windows are 20th-century casements, and there are boarded doors in plain frames. Above the entrance, there is a panel inscribed "T H 1732" and a Sun fire-insurance sign. At the rear, there is an ancient privy from the early 19th century, which is a small hut with vertical boarding and a thatched roof.
