Description
West Lodge, part of Penton Lodge, is a lodge dwelling built around 1830. It features painted brick and render with a low-pitched hipped slate roof. The front, which faces southeast, is single-storeyed and symmetrical, with a layout of 1.1.1 windows and a gabled projecting center. The building has simple eaves moulding, painted brickwork (with the lower part rendered), rubbed flat arches, and a plinth. The windows are sashes set in reveals, with three lights in the center. The entrance is located on the south side of the center and is now enclosed by a 20th-century glazed porch with a slate roof. The central chimney stack is made of yellow brick and has three separated flues connected by a head with a moulded top and a plain base. The symmetrical design is also applied to the other elevations, and there is an outshot extending along the rear side of the building.
