Description

This is a row of three cottages, now combined into two dwellings named Grange Cottage and Lilac Cottage. They were built in the early and late 18th century. The cottages are timber-framed with flint and brick walls, and have a thatched roof. The building is one storey high, with an attic, and has four windows. The roof is half-hipped, with eaves raised above the upper windows, and a lower 20th-century rear extension with a pantile roof. The timber frame of two periods is visible in the upper part of Grange Cottage (south and centre units) and in the north gable of Lilac Cottage, with painted brick infill. The remaining walls are flint with brick quoins, featuring some cambered openings and a plinth, all now painted. Windows are casements, with several old square-leaded lights. A boarded door is set within a plain doorway.
