Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a house built in the early 18th century, with an extension added to the north end in the early 19th century. The cottage features walls made of flint and stone, with brick quoins, a first floor band that ties into the window surrounds, and a plinth band. The later sections of the walls are constructed in Flemish bond with blue headers, and the ground floor openings are cambered. The thatched roof is half-hipped and includes eyebrow dormers. The cottage is one storey with an attic and was originally designed with two windows and a central doorway, which has since been converted into a window. The building has been extended to include one additional window above the two original ones. The windows are casements, and the entrance is located at the rear. Dendrochronological analysis conducted in April 2021 indicates that the cottage was likely built in the second decade of the 18th century.
