Description
Nos 11, 13, and 15 Chantry Street is a timber-framed house that dates from the 16th century, 18th century, and early 19th century. It has two storeys and features irregular windows under a tile roof. The upper walls are rendered and jetted over the ground floor, which has a moulded board; part of the ground floor has exposed joists and curved brackets, while another part has a plastered soffit. The timber frame of Nos 11 and 13 is exposed on the ground floor with painted brick infill, while No 15 has an early 19th-century shopfront frame with pilasters. The windows consist of sashes above casements. No 11 features an 18th-century doorcase with a moulded canopy on carved brackets, leading to a six-panelled door (two of which are glazed) and another plain boarded door. No 15 has a boarded door (formerly a house) and a panelled door (formerly a shop). At the rear, the roof has low eaves, and there is a hipped-roof extension to No 15 with exposed timber-framing.
