Description

The Old School is a building from 1871, now serving as an estate office. It is attributed to the architect William White due to its similarity to the nearby church, also designed by him. The structure features a small hall with a porch, a steep tile roof with a half-hipped gable on the south side, a gabled porch, and a bellcote at the east end topped with an octagonal spirelet made of shingle, supported by two brackets. The walls are constructed of large flints, accented with brick quoins, bands, and a plinth. There are pointed window openings beneath the south gablet and the east gable, with casements that have pierced tracery within Gothic arches. Inside, the building showcases brickwork and finely-crafted roof trusses.
