Description
Cleve Hill is a house that dates from the 16th century, with additions from the 17th century, early 19th century, and 20th century. It is a timber-framed hall-type house that has later been clad in brick and features large fireplaces at each end. The house has a thatched roof and is one storey high with an attic, displaying two rows of four windows. The roof is gabled at the north end and hipped on the south side, with an extension that has lower eaves above an outshot. The eaves are raised above the upper windows and are supported by posts to create a porch over the entrance. The lower wall on the east side is constructed in English bond using small bricks and has a plinth, while the rest of the building features Flemish bond with blue headers and some cambered openings. The windows include casements and two French windows, along with a boarded door.
