Description
This pair of lodges, built in the early 19th century, is located 100 meters west of Houghton Lodge. Constructed from brick and fishscale tiles, they feature a cast-iron fence, gates, and piers. The lodges are symmetrically arranged with central gates, each consisting of two bay, single-storey structures that face the drive and have a projecting porch at the road end. The road-facing elevation showcases pointed Y-tracery, a Gothic window above, and a stucco quatrefoil around the recess. The gabled porch includes a pointed archway at the front and a bargeboard, with a four-centred arch on the sides. Inside, there is a studded plank door and a recessed panel or two-light casement in the other bay. The lodges also feature a central carved stack and decorated ridge tiles. The gates between the lodges consist of central carriage gates flanked by pedestrian gates, supported by four octagonal cast-iron piers.
