Description

This is an early 19th century cottage, originally built at a right angle to the road, with a substantial 20th century addition to the rear, creating an L-shaped building. The building is constructed of flint and brick, with a pantile roof. The original cottage has a symmetrical east-facing front of two storeys and three windows. The walls feature regular banding of flint and brick, with brick quoins and coupled Gothic arches to the openings, the central one filled with brickwork forming a blue diamond. It has cast-iron casements with small panes and pointed tops and a boarded door in a plain frame. The north gable facing the road, and the rear wall, continue the banded effect. The west elevation has a small cast-iron casement above a boarded door. The 20th century addition matches the scale of the original building, with upper walls tile-hung above a brick ground floor.
