Description
The sundial, located in the center of the south court, is situated 10 meters south of the south door of Marsh Court in Kings Somborne. It dates from around 1900 and features a dial created by Pilkington and Gibbs, set on a pedestal designed by E. L. Lutyens. The sundial consists of a stone plinth and pedestal supporting a bronze sundial. The plinth is hexagonal, leading to a round column adorned with a continuous inlaid bronze spiral pattern. Atop the column is a square abacus that supports a sophisticated sundial device.
