Description
This is an early 19th century building, originally a lodge, situated on Church Lane. The front facade is rendered and features a grooved texture. It has a tiled roof and a single storey, with two sash windows containing glazing bars. The roof slopes low at the south end, creating a canopy above the entrance. The entrance itself features a three-light sash window and a six-panel door, surmounted by a simple rectangular fanlight supported by grooved brackets. The rear facade is tile hung. The property is part of a group that includes the walls and gate piers of numbers 14 to 28 (even), numbers 34 and 36, along with the garden wall and walls to number 35 and a nearby bungalow, all relating to the landscape setting; this group is visually connected to the wall opposite Serampore Place.
