Description
This is an early 19th century pair of houses located on Church Lane. The houses are built of painted brick with a diagonally set brick stringcourse running along at first-floor level and below the eaves. They have slate roofs with off-centre and end chimneys. The front elevation has two storeys and three windows, featuring sash windows with only the vertical glazing bars remaining. Number 26 has a six-panelled front door, while both doors are topped with fanlights and flat hoods supported by thin columns. Extending at right angles to the rear is an older wing.
The property is part of a group which includes Church Lane House, its walls and gate piers, numbers 14 to 28 (even), numbers 34 and 36, the garden wall immediately adjacent to numbers 34 and 36, the wall opposite Serampore Place, the walls to number 35, and the walls to an adjacent bungalow.
