Description

Milford House Hotel, on Church Hill in Milford on Sea, is an original house believed to date from 1680, significantly remodelled in the late 18th century by the Adams brothers. The building comprises a central section and two flanking wings. The central, oldest part is constructed of red brick with a string course and Roman cement cornice, topped by a castellated parapet. It has a tiled roof and two storeys with five barred sash windows. A doorway is sheltered by a flat canopy. The flanking wings, dating to the early 19th century, are of red brick with grey headers and were originally painted. They have curved facades and are two storeys high, with a slightly taller elevation than the central section, each featuring three barred sash windows. Inside, there is a spiral staircase.
