Mid/late C19 corner block. White brick facade with cornice, blocking course and slate roof. Facade to Gosport Street of 3 storeys. 5 windows, sashes with late C19 glazing, bracketed cornices above those of first floor. Top floor windows with painted stuccoed lintels, some blanks. Ground floor has northern altered C19 shop front, flanked by round-arched eastern door and with double carriageway doors under western arch. Both arches with stucco keystones and impost blocks. Good double southern shop front (now 2 shops) with arched lights and cornice with end stops overall. Facade to Quay Hill of red brick (ground floor colourwashed). 3 storeys and basement. Modern reproduction bow and 1 sash ground floor, C19 small cast iron bollard against corner of No 1 at junction of Gosport Street and Quay Hill. Building has important position at junction of 4 of the town's main streets.
