Description
Nos 137 and 138 on High Street are 18th-century buildings featuring a facade made of painted brick. They have a wide modillion eaves cornice, stepped brick kneelers, and a tiled roof. The buildings are two storeys tall and have four windows, which are sashes with flush frames and late 19th-century glazing. There are reproduction bow windows on the ground floor, which serve a restaurant. The facade facing Gosport Street has been rebuilt. These buildings, along with Nos 120 to 138, the Iron Gates and Overthrow between Nos 132 and 133, and the Roman Catholic Church and Primary School, form a group of local interest.
