Description

The granary at Middle Ripley Farm dates from the early to mid 18th century. It is timber-framed and covered in weatherboarding, standing on staddlestones with a half-hipped plain clay roof. The building has a rectangular plan consisting of three bays and features a central penticed entrance. The wall frame includes upright posts with cut profile jowls and diagonal tension braces. The roof is supported by queen posts, has two tiers of staggered purlins, and a ridgepiece. There are also reported visible carpenter's marks.
