Description

Four headstones located 13 metres south of the chancel door of the Church of St Mary date from the early 18th century. They are made of carved stone. The most notable headstone features console brackets on either side, topped with a skull and hourglass. It has an inscription panel that is surmounted by a segmental pediment containing an angel with spread wings. The other headstones have shaped heads and inscriptions, commemorating Mary Madoc from 1737, Allis Purkes from 1703, and Joan New from 1735.
