Description

This is a two-storey and attic house located on the east side of High Street, Fordingbridge. It dates to 1679, with alterations and a ground floor refronting in the 18th century. The brick ground floor is rendered, while the first floor features stone windows, and the roof is covered with old plain tiles. The building is three bays wide, with a door between the right-hand bay and the centre, and a stack between the left-hand bay and the centre. A 18th-century four-panel door is set within an architrave frame, under a flat hood supported by carved brackets. There is also a four-pane door at the left-hand end. The ground floor has three 16-pane sash windows. The first-floor cill level is marked by a string. The windows on the first floor are mullioned, with two lights in the right-hand and centre bays, and three lights in the left-hand bay. All the first-floor windows have architraves. The roof has dentilled brick eaves, and three hip-roofed dormers with leaded 2-light windows. A ridge stack is located to the left of the centre, and there are remains of a stack at the right-hand end.
