Description
3-5 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It was originally built in the 18th century, or possibly earlier, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of painted brick and has a tiled roof.
The structure has two-and-a-half storeys and features a pitched tiled roof with a stack at the right end. On the ground floor, there are three bowed shop windows, with the left-hand window having an inserted half-glazed doorway. To the right of the centre, there is a much altered 18th-century doorway beneath a flat hood. The first floor contains three two-light casement windows, and the attic storey has two hipped roof dormers.
The interior has not been inspected. Originally built as a house, it was later converted for commercial use. The building is recognized for its attractive early fabric and its significance on the High Street in Fordingbridge.
