Description
Nos. 47-51 on Main Road are three adjoining blocks of estate cottages, each consisting of three units, built in the late 19th century. The walls are made of brickwork in Flemish bond, featuring cambered and slightly pointed openings, along with a black brick pattern in horizontal bands and within the arches. The upper walls are tile-hung with scalloped bands. The cottages have a tile roof, also with scalloped bands, and decorative bargeboards, along with prominent stacks. Designed in a 'Tudor' style, the front elevations face northwest and include projecting gabled wings and gabled dormers in the center. The buildings are one storey with an attic and have a window arrangement of 1.2.1. The windows are diamond cast-iron casements, and there are plain doorways beneath a tile canopy supported by posts, which extends between the wings.
